What does the price depend on?

Your trainer

Every trainer is independent and sets their own rate, based on things like experience and specialisation. Trainers with an extra specialisation, such as physiotherapy or nutrition, may charge a different rate.

How often you train

Most clients train 1 to 3 times a week. The more often you train, the higher the monthly total, but the lower the rate per session: €70-€80 at 1× per week, €65-€75 at 2× and €60-€70 at 3× per week. Your trainer advises what suits your goal and budget.

1-on-1 or duo

With duo personal training you pay €10 to €20 extra per session, but you split the cost between the two of you. So per person, duo is cheaper. More about duo personal training.

Personal training or a regular gym?

A gym membership is cheaper per month, but then you train on your own: you make your own programme, watch your technique and keep yourself motivated. With personal training you pay for coaching. Your trainer makes a plan, corrects your technique and adjusts based on your progress.

At Upshape you also train in a PT-only gym. There is no walk-in access, so it is quiet and you never have to wait for equipment. You do not need a separate membership for this.

How to keep it affordable

Start with one or two sessions a week and discuss with your trainer what is realistic. If you train with someone else, you share the cost with duo training. And in the free intake you first experience for yourself whether personal training suits you.

Is personal training worth the money?

That depends on your goal. With a personal trainer you learn the right technique, train according to a plan that suits you and stay motivated. Also meet our personal trainers in The Hague or read about personal training for beginners and weight loss with personal training.
