Upshape Gyms B.V. (Upshape) is a PT-only gym in The Hague where you train with a self-employed personal trainer. We handle your data with care. Here is a short overview of how.

1. Which data and why

We process the data you give us yourself, for example when you request an intake, apply as a trainer, or contact us by email or WhatsApp. This includes your name, contact details and what you tell us about your goal and situation. We use this data to contact you, suggest a suitable trainer, schedule your intake and trial session, and answer your questions. We do so on the basis of your request (the agreement you enter into with us), our legitimate interest in following up requests properly and, for cookies, your consent.

2. Your trainer

To match you with a trainer, we share the details from your intake with the personal trainer we select for you. Our trainers are self-employed professionals; after the match, your trainer is responsible for handling your data with care and uses it only for your coaching.

3. Who we share data with

We only share your data with parties we need to deliver our service, such as your trainer, the platform our website runs on, and the systems we use for lead follow-up and communication. With your consent via the cookie banner, we share website usage with Google and Meta for statistics and advertising. Some of these parties (such as Google and Meta) process data outside the EU; this is done on the basis of the safeguards required by law. We never sell your data.

4. How long we keep data

We do not keep your data longer than necessary for the purpose for which we received it, or for as long as the law requires.

5. Cookies

On your first visit, a cookie banner asks for your consent. Necessary cookies (for language, security and the forms) are always on. We only use analytics and marketing cookies (Google Analytics, Google Ads, Meta) if you agree. Want to change your choice later? Clear the cookies for upshape.nl in your browser; the banner will appear again on your next visit.

We display reviews on the website that clients have posted on Google, with the first name the client uses on Google.

6. Security

We protect your data with appropriate measures, such as encrypted connections and access only for those who need the data.

7. Your rights

You have the right to access, correct or delete your data, to restrict processing, to object and to data portability. You can withdraw consent at any time. Send your request to support@upshape.nl. If you wish to file a complaint, you can do so with the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens).

8. Under 16

Are you under 16? Ask a parent or guardian to request the intake for you. We will then contact you through that parent or guardian.

9. Changes

We may update this policy when our services or the law change. The date at the top indicates the latest version.
